The key word here is simple. A bold logo or cute character can look fantastic at 2 inches, but very detailed artwork or tiny text may benefit from a larger size.

If we had to pick one sticker size that works beautifully for just about everything, 3 inches would be it.

Three-inch stickers are great for:

How Are Custom Sticker Sizes Measured?

This is one of the most important things to understand before ordering.

A custom die-cut sticker isn’t necessarily going to be a perfect 3" × 3" square just because you selected a 3-inch size.

The proportions of your artwork matter.

A tall character, a wide logo and a circular design can all feel very different even when their longest dimension is the same.

What Size Sticker Is Best for a Water Bottle?

For most reusable water bottles and tumblers, we recommend starting around 2–3 inches.

A 3-inch sticker gives you great visibility on many bottles without taking over the entire surface.

Also pay attention to the curve of the bottle. The narrower the bottle, the more aggressively the surface curves, so extra-wide artwork may work better at a slightly smaller size.

What Size Sticker Is Best for a Laptop?

For most laptop stickers, we like 3–4 inches.

Choose 3 inches if you want room for other stickers around it. Choose 4 inches if you want the artwork to be more of a focal point.

If your laptop already has approximately 47 stickers fighting for the last available square inch, you probably already know what you’re doing.

What Size Sticker Is Best for Product Packaging?

For boxes, bags, envelopes and packaging inserts, 2–3 inches is usually a great starting range.

Before ordering, measure around:

• Seams
• Curves
• Folds
• Handles
• Other labels
• Barcodes
• Printed branding

Even half an inch can make a surprisingly big difference on smaller packaging.

Does Detailed Artwork Need a Bigger Sticker?

If you’re stuck between two sizes and preserving the details is important, we’d usually lean toward giving the artwork a little more room.
